SMM News on June 18: Today, the price of titanium concentrate (TiO2≥47%) is 2000-2150 yuan/mt; the price of titanium ingot (TA1) is 59000-60000 yuan/mt, and the price of titanium ingot (TC4) is 67000-69000 yuan/mt. The prices of rutile titanium dioxide and anatase titanium dioxide remain stable.

Today, the price of domestic titanium concentrate has decreased by 50 yuan to 2075 yuan/mt. In terms of market competition, affected by the pressure from imported titanium ore prices and the decline in the grade of domestic titanium ore, the price of domestic titanium concentrate continues to fall. From the perspective of downstream demand, the current low price of titanium dioxide further suppresses the market price of titanium concentrate.

Today, the price of titanium ingot (TA1) has risen to 59500 yuan/mt, and the price of titanium ingot (TC4) has risen to 68000 yuan/mt. In terms of upstream supply, a titanium sponge enterprise raised its quotation by 2000 yuan/mt again on June 11. The increase in raw material prices has led to a tightening supply of titanium ingots. In terms of downstream demand, orders from the aerospace and military industries have performed well, and the increase in market demand has driven up the volume of titanium ingot order signing, thereby pushing up prices.

Regarding the outlook, the upward trend of titanium sponge and titanium ingots still needs to be continuously observed. The price of titanium dioxide is currently still at a low level in the market, and SMM will continue to monitor subsequent price trends.

Silicon Metal Market Review for January and Outlook for February
In January, the silicon metal market experienced a relatively loose supply-demand balance, with a theoretical inventory buildup of approximately 30,000 mt. In February, both supply and demand contracted simultaneously, and the market is expected to show a tight balance or minor destocking. The current high industry inventory still requires time to be digested, and the sustainability of destocking remains a key variable affecting price trends and market sentiment.

A plant in northern China is calling for bids for indium ingots and bismuth ingots
SMM, February 6 - According to SMM’s investigation of market information, a large smelter in northern China began public bidding for a certain quantity of indium ingots and bismuth ingots starting yesterday. Market sources indicate that the starting price for these indium ingots exceeds 4,000 yuan per kilogram, while the starting price for bismuth ingots is above 150,000 yuan per ton. The bidding results are expected to be announced before the Spring Festival. Market participants note that, given the clear trend of sluggish trading activity ahead of the Spring Festival, the timing of this bidding is not ideal. However, the relatively favorable starting prices have generated considerable market anticipation for the outcome of the bidding.
